When you go on vacation it can sometimes be tough to
choose attractions that you should add to your schedule. Most cities
have so many that you simply can not do everything and Bellevue,
Washington is no exception. One attraction that you should add to your
list however is the Bellevue Botanical Gardens. It is a great
attraction that you will learn a little more about in this article.
The
Bellevue Botanical Gardens are made up of over fifty acres of
woodlands, meadows, wetlands and display gardens. They were started
back in 1984 when the original seven acre tract of land was donated to
the city of Bellevue. The city has since expanded the gardens with
additional acreage creating what you have today, a large and beautiful
nature attraction. There are many highlights in the gardens to talk
about. There is the Waterwise Garden which was created by the Bellevue
Utilities Department. It is designed to show people the benefits of
water conservation in a garden. There is also the Alpine Rock Garden.
This attraction contains plants from a variety of different continents.
These plants art those that are mainly seen at higher elevations and
ones that you would normally never get a chance to see. There are a
number of other gardens inside the complex including the Yao Japanese
Garden and the NPA Perennial Border. There is such a great variety here
that just about anyone could find something that interests them. This
is why you should be sure to add it to your list of must see places in
Bellevue Washington.
If you would like to visit the gardens you
can find them at 12001 Main Street in Bellevue Washington. For more
